Sterling Silver hand fabricated Kachina – the Piggyback Mudhead. “A “piggyback” or “double” Mudhead kachina doll features one Mudhead character carrying a smaller one on its back, a common artistic variation representing the playful nature of these Hopi/Zuni messengers. These hand-carved cottonwood figures typically depict the Mudheads in red-brown clay with knobbed masks, often wearing traditional kilts and holding items like rattles or watermelons.” Stands approximately 4 3/8 inches tall and 1 3/4 inches wide, base is 1 7/8 inches all around. Stamped “Jeffrey Castillo sterling” on the bottom of the base, along with “Mudhead”.
