Miniature Hopi Great Horned Owl Kachina carved from wood and embellished with fabric, fibers and feathers. “The Hopi Great Horned Owl Kachina, known as Mongwa, is a significant figure in Hopi ceremonies and art, embodying intelligence, wisdom, and a role as a disciplinarian. He is associated with keeping fields free of rodents, and with restoring order to the village by correcting the clowns’ misbehavior according to Turquoise Spirit Journey.
