Brown Throated Three-toed Sloth

This is a giclee print of my original pen, ink and watercolour illustration of a Brown Throated Three-toed Sloth with her baby. ‘Brown-Throated Three-toed Sloths are usually found up in the canopies of Central and South American rainforests where they spend most of their time feeding on leaves and shoots. They rarely leave their tree-top hangouts, but visit the forest floor every eight days or so to relieve themselves. Unlike their larger relations the two-toed sloths, three-toed’s are agile swimmers. When in the water, algae collects in the Sloth’s thick, coarse fur coat, where, thanks to the Sloth’s slow-movement, it is exposed to sunlight while the Sloth feeds in the canopies. The algae gives the Three-toed Sloth’s fur a greenish tint which scientists believe enhances it’s camouflage protection against eagles and jaguars – the Sloth’s only natural predators ..’ Professionally printed onto 100% recycled white 300gsm paper, this print is available in two sizes: Small (A4) or Large (A3); unframed, or framed.
